Haitham Hassan came off the bench as Celtic defeated Motherwell 2-0 in the Scottish league.
The Egypt international was introduced in the 73rd minute, with Celtic already holding a two-goal lead. The score remained unchanged for the rest of the match.
It was the second consecutive league game in which Hassan had started on the bench, following Celtic’s meeting with Rangers before the international break.
The result leaves Hassan’s side top of the Scottish league with 21 points from eight matches. Celtic are two points clear of rivals Rangers.
Before the match, Hassan had made five league appearances for Celtic this season and provided one assist. He has played a total of 303 minutes in the Scottish league since joining the club during the current campaign.
Hassan was rested for Egypt’s final international-break fixture against South Africa after an agreement with the national team’s medical staff.
The Celtic winger had played 53 minutes for Egypt against South Sudan in the second round of qualifying for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations.
