La Viena have appointed Mustafa Marei as their new head coach following the resignation of Abdel Rahman Fahmi, who has moved into the role of sporting director at the club.
The decision was taken by La Viena’s board, chaired by Waleed Al-Tayeb, with Marei becoming the latest manager to take charge of the team this season.
Fahmi’s departure represents the eighth managerial resignation or change in the Professional League campaign so far. Three of those changes have involved La Viena.
La Viena are 19th and second-bottom in the table, with three points after eight rounds. Masar lead the standings with 19 points, followed by Haras El Hodoud in second on 18.
Kahraba Ismailia and Maliyat Kafr El Zayat occupy third and fourth respectively, with both clubs on 17 points.
The managerial changes in the Professional League so far are:
1. Ashraf Khodr resigned as Ismaily manager after the second round and was replaced by Ahmed Koshary.
2. Alaa Hassaballah left Mega Sport after the fourth round, with Mido Fouad appointed as his replacement.
3. Abdel Khalek Shola resigned as Dairut manager after the fourth round and was succeeded by Mostafa Mohany.
4. Hamad Ibrahim resigned as La Viena manager, with Ahmed Khairy appointed in his place.
5. Ahmed Khairy resigned as La Viena manager and was replaced by Abdel Rahman Fahmi.
6. Tarek Abdullah was appointed Mega Sport manager in place of Mido Fouad.
7. Mohamed Salah resigned as Team FC manager after the seventh round.
8. Abdel Rahman Fahmi resigned as La Viena manager and has now been replaced by Mustafa Marei.
