Cristiano Ronaldo disciplinary decision delayed by Portuguese Football Federation

The Portuguese Football Federation has not announced the expected disciplinary punishment for Cristiano Ronaldo, despite anticipation that a decision would be issued in the latest statement from its disciplinary council.

Ronaldo, captain of the Portugal national team and an Al Nassr player, was not mentioned in the council’s statement on Friday. The document dealt with a range of sanctions in non-professional competitions but made no reference to the case involving the striker.

As a result, any potential punishment for Ronaldo remains unresolved, with no official announcement included in the latest disciplinary update.

According to Portuguese newspaper Record, Ronaldo’s admission of wrongdoing could lead to a reduction in the eventual sanction under the applicable regulations. The punishment could be cut by half, meaning a possible suspension of up to six months could be reduced to three months.

The minimum suspension could also fall from one month to 15 days if the relevant conditions are applied.

Ronaldo’s disciplinary position therefore remains awaiting an official ruling. Further clarity is expected when the Portuguese Football Federation issues its formal decision on the case.
