Al-Qadsiah strengthened their position at the top of the Roshn Saudi League with a record-equalling away win against teams from the Qassim region, beating Al-Kholood 5-0 on Friday.
The match was played at Al Hazm Club Stadium in Ar Rass during the eighth round of the competition, and extended Al-Qadsiah’s impressive run in 2026.
According to Opta statistics, the result was Al-Qadsiah’s fourth consecutive away victory against Qassim-based teams in the Saudi Pro League. That matched the longest winning run of its kind in the club’s history, previously achieved between 2021 and 2025.
The scale of the victory also placed the result among Al-Qadsiah’s most significant wins in the competition. It was only the third time they had won a Saudi Pro League match by five goals or more.
Their previous victories by that margin came against Al Fateh, in a 6-1 win in October 2011, and against Al-Fayha, when they recorded a 5-0 victory in January this year.
The gap between the two earlier successes was particularly notable. Before those wins, Al-Qadsiah had not defeated an opponent by five goals in the league for 15 years, dating back to the victory over Al Fateh in October 2011.
Opta also highlighted a landmark performance from Al-Qadsiah forward Julian Quinones. The Mexico international created two goals in the same league match for the first time in his Roshn Saudi League career.
Quinones had previously contributed at least two goals or assists in 19 matches in the competition, but Friday’s match was the first occasion on which he had provided two assists in a single game.
The emphatic result lifted Al-Qadsiah to 19 points and put them temporarily at the top of the Saudi Pro League table. They moved one point clear of Al Hilal and two ahead of Al-Ittihad.
Al Hilal and Al-Ittihad are due to meet in the forthcoming clasico, which could change the standings after the two sides’ match.
