African football news: Yasser Ibrahim weighs Al Ahly Benghazi approach

Yasser Ibrahim is considering his options after Al Ahly Benghazi offered the Egypt international a contract worth about $1.5m (£1.1m) a year, according to Maghreb-Foot.

The 33-year-old defender’s contract with Al Ahly expires at the end of the current season. The Cairo club has asked Ibrahim whether he has been contacted by Al Ahly Benghazi, and he confirmed that discussions with the Libyan side had taken place.

However, Ibrahim has not signed any agreement and talks remain at an early stage. He must now decide whether to extend his stay with the Diables Rouges or pursue a move abroad, with the financial terms of the Libyan proposal making it an attractive option.

Strasbourg tracking South Africa international Appollis

RC Strasbourg are monitoring Orlando Pirates forward Oswin Appollis as they begin planning for the January transfer window, according to reports from Ekrem Konur.

The South Africa international has been watched by scouts from the French club, although Strasbourg have not yet made an official offer for his transfer.

Interest in Appollis extends beyond France. Clubs in Spain and Portugal are also following the player’s situation closely, suggesting the 23-year-old could attract competition if the transfer market develops in the coming months.

Three PSL clubs monitoring Ouattara

Djibril Ouattara is attracting growing interest in South Africa ahead of the January transfer window, with Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs all keeping track of the Burkina Faso international.

Soccer Laduma reports that Ouattara’s representatives have received increasingly concrete indications of interest. His contract with APR FC is due to expire next year, although no agreement has been reached with any of the interested clubs.

The player’s international experience, combined with his favourable contractual position, has placed him on the radar of the three leading PSL clubs as they assess potential January moves.

Fatahine misses Algeria U23 trip because of family emergency

Anis Fatahine withdrew from Algeria’s U23 squad at the last minute before the team travelled to Johannesburg for a preparation camp.

The 21-year-old Puy-en-Velay player asked to be released because of a family emergency, and his request was accepted by Rafik Saifi’s staff.

A person close to Fatahine told Maghreb-Foot that the absence should not affect the player’s sporting or personal situation. His immediate return to the Puy-en-Velay team for their most recent league match was cited as evidence that he remains settled in both areas.
