Burkina Faso take control against Equatorial Guinea in Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifying
Burkina Faso secured a two-goal advantage in their Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifying tie by beating Equatorial Guinea 3-1 at the Stade du 4-Aout on Thursday.
The Etalons Dames made a fast start, with Oriata Konate opening the scoring in the seventh minute.
Burkina Faso doubled their lead 13 minutes later when Judicael Ouoba found the net in the 20th minute, putting the hosts in a strong position before half-time.
Equatorial Guinea responded after the break as Muryel Linda reduced the deficit in the 63rd minute. However, Ouoba restored Burkina Faso’s two-goal cushion with her second goal of the match in the 72nd minute.
The result gives Burkina Faso a significant advantage ahead of the second leg of the second-round tie.
The return fixture will be played in Cameroon because Equatorial Guinea does not have an approved stadium available to host the match.
