Bachir Belloumi’s market value has risen from €6.5m to €18m after a standout start to the season with Hull City and a productive international break with Algeria.
The latest Transfermarkt valuation, reported by DZ Foot, represents an increase of €11.5m in just a few weeks. Belloumi’s new figure is almost three times his previous valuation and reflects the growing impact of the 24-year-old winger at both club and international level.
Belloumi had already attracted attention before joining up with the Fennecs. His early-season performances in the Premier League established him as one of Hull City’s most impressive players, and he continued that form during Algeria’s latest fixtures.
The winger announced himself with a double in Hull City’s 2-2 draw with Chelsea before setting up a goal in the Tigers’ 2-1 victory over Newcastle.
His performances for Algeria added further momentum. Started by Brahim Hemdani against Zambia and Burundi, Belloumi scored his first goal for the Greens in the 2-2 draw with the Swallows.
He then found the net again in a 2-1 friendly win against Niger. This time, he came off the bench before scoring an impressive direct free-kick.
Those displays have marked a significant step forward for the player, who had previously been regarded as a promising talent. Belloumi is now beginning to establish himself at the highest level, with his influence growing for both Hull City and Algeria.
Born in Mascara, he is the son of Algeria legend Lakhdar Belloumi. His ability to operate in different roles, combined with his left-footed quality and willingness to create openings in the final third, has placed him among the leading candidates to eventually succeed Riyad Mahrez on the right side of Algeria’s attack.
Belloumi is not the only contender for that role. He shares that status with Anis Hadj Moussa, another highly rated left-footed winger, setting up a potential rivalry that could shape the Fennecs’ attack in the years ahead.
The next challenge will be to maintain his level over a longer period. However, his Premier League performances, two goals for Algeria and sharp rise in market value all point to a player whose status has changed considerably since the beginning of the season.
