Al Ahli goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has suffered a shoulder injury in training, adding to the club’s problems two days before their Roshn Saudi League visit to Al Fateh.
The Senegal international was hurt during Wednesday’s session, with Al Ahli confirming the news on their official account on X. The club said Mendy would remain under continuous assessment by the medical staff to determine when he can return to full team training.
Al Ahli will face Al Fateh on Friday at Midan Tamweel Al Oula in Al-Ahsa, in the eighth round of the Roshn Saudi League.
Mendy is the latest player to join Al Ahli’s injury list. Naif Masoud is suffering from an ankle-joint injury, while Zakaria Al-Hawsawi was injured while representing Saudi Arabia at the Gulf Arab Cup “Gulf 27”.
Brazilian defender Roger Ibanez is also recovering from an injury, although he is understood to be close to returning to group training under Dutch manager Marino Pusic.
Al Ahli are sixth in the Saudi league with 12 points from four wins and three defeats. They are six points behind leaders Al Hilal.
