Equatorial Guinea target victory against Burkina Faso in Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifiers

Equatorial Guinea coach Ganet Sonoko says his side are determined to win when they face Burkina Faso in the second round of the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic qualifiers on Thursday.

“We have come to win,” Sonoko said at a news conference before the match, which will kick off at 18:00 at the Stade du 4-Aout in Ouagadougou.

Equatorial Guinea are confident ahead of the meeting with the Etalons Dames, despite Burkina Faso having home advantage. Sonoko’s team want to leave Ouagadougou with a positive result and strengthen their position in the qualifying tie.

Captain Raquel Bolopo also highlighted the strong mood within the Equatorial Guinea squad.

“The team spirit is at its best, as is our morale. We want to leave with the victory and Los Angeles is an objective for us,” she said.

Both teams will be seeking an advantage in Thursday’s first meeting before the remainder of the confrontation.
