Ethan Mbappe could leave LOSC Lille for Turkey, with Fenerbahce reportedly monitoring the 19-year-old attacking midfielder ahead of the winter transfer window.
According to Fanatik, representatives of Kylian Mbappe’s younger brother have already presented his profile to the Istanbul club. Fenerbahce are understood to be considering whether to make a move for the player, whose contract situation has increased interest in his availability.
Fenerbahce are looking to strengthen their squad this winter but must also work within restrictions concerning the number of foreign players they can register. The club are therefore placing particular emphasis on players aged 23 or under, a requirement Ethan Mbappe meets.
The regulations state that, once the maximum number of foreign players has been reached, Fenerbahce must include several younger players who satisfy the relevant age criteria. That makes the Franco-Cameroonian midfielder an attractive option for the Turkish side as they assess potential targets.
Mbappe has become part of Lille’s rotation
Mbappe has gradually established himself as a regular part of the squad at Lille. He has featured in every match played by the club this season, although he did not start one of those games.
Despite his growing involvement, his longer-term future at LOSC Lille remains unresolved. His contract is approaching its expiry, leaving the midfielder’s position open to interest from clubs as the winter market draws closer.
Fenerbahce have already made enquiries about the situation, according to the report. Their interest is strengthened by Mbappe’s age, which would allow him to fit the club’s requirements under the rules governing foreign players.
No formal offer has been announced at this stage. However, Mbappe’s contract position and suitability for Fenerbahce’s squad-building plans could make him one of the players to watch during the winter transfer window in Turkey.
Lille’s next match will be against Le Havre on matchday six of the French league.
