Adem Zorgane has emerged as a potential target for SSC Napoli ahead of the next winter transfer window, with the Serie A club closely monitoring the Algeria international’s performances for Union Saint-Gilloise.
The 26-year-old midfielder is attracting serious interest in Italy, according to reports including La Gazzetta dello Sport. Napoli are understood to be examining the possibility of making a move for Zorgane as they assess their midfield options for the months ahead.
Napoli’s interest is closely linked to the uncertainty surrounding Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa. The Cameroon midfielder’s contract expires in June and his future at the Italian club remains unresolved.
If Anguissa were to leave as early as January, Napoli’s hierarchy could be forced to accelerate its search for a replacement. In that situation, Zorgane is viewed as a particularly appealing option because of his ability to operate in more than one midfield role.
Zorgane can play in front of the defence or take up a more advanced position. His work when winning possession and his ability to control the tempo of a match are among the qualities believed to have impressed Napoli’s decision-makers.
The Algeria international also offers accuracy and reliability in possession, allowing him to contribute to the build-up from midfield. That passing ability, combined with his tactical flexibility, could suit the demands of Napoli’s style and enable him to adapt to different formations.
The financial terms of a possible deal may also be within Napoli’s reach. Italian media estimates place Zorgane’s transfer value between €12m and €15m.
No formal move has yet been confirmed, and it remains to be seen whether SSC Napoli will turn their interest into an offer in the coming months. However, Anguissa’s contract situation could give the Zorgane case greater significance as the winter transfer window approaches.
Before then, Union Saint-Gilloise are due to play their eighth match of the Belgian championship against Louvain.
