Real Madrid TV leaves women’s Clasico out of bulletin as Negreira case takes focus

Real Madrid’s official television channel made no mention of the women’s Clasico, despite Barcelona beating Real Madrid 7-0 on Sunday.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the channel’s news bulletin featured coverage of the men’s first team, the youth academy, basketball and Real Madrid’s international commitments. However, the women’s team and its heavy defeat by Barcelona were omitted entirely.

The programme instead devoted extensive attention to refereeing, with particular emphasis on the Negreira case and Barcelona’s La Liga match during October.

The report examined several refereeing decisions which, in the channel’s view, had clearly affected Real Madrid negatively. It focused on incidents involving Barcelona while making no reference to the result in the women’s Clasico.

The Catalan newspaper reported that Real Madrid’s 7-0 defeat was not mentioned at any point in the broadcast. The result was described in reports as having caused significant damage to the club’s senior management.

The omission came as the channel’s bulletin concentrated on issues involving referees and Barcelona, rather than reflecting the weekend’s most significant result involving Real Madrid’s women’s side.
