Juventus move ahead of Milan and Marseille in race for Standard teenager Ange-Gabriel Kokora

Juventus are closely monitoring Standard de Liege defender Ange-Gabriel Kokora and are considering moving early to secure the highly rated teenager, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Kokora, 18, is developing with Standard de Liege’s reserve side, which competes in the Belgian third division. His performances have attracted growing interest from clubs across Europe, with his potential earning particular attention despite his limited senior experience.

Juventus identify long-term potential

The Italian club view Kokora as a player capable of developing rapidly and could act before the competition for his signature becomes more intense.

Juventus have a long-standing reputation for investing in young players who can improve before establishing themselves at the highest level. Kokora’s age and position appear to fit that approach, with the Turin club reportedly keen to gain an advantage in the early stages of the process.

The central defender has already made an impression during his appearances for Standard’s reserve team, prompting a number of leading clubs to follow his progress.

Milan, Real Betis and Marseille also interested

Juventus face competition from Milan, Real Betis and Olympique de Marseille, all of whom are also keeping track of the Belgian defender of Ivorian origin.

Interest could increase quickly if Kokora continues to fulfil the promise he has shown since beginning his appearances with Standard de Liege’s second team. The attention also represents an encouraging indication of the quality of the Belgian club’s youth development.

Standard remain in a relatively strong position because Kokora is under contract until June 2027. That agreement gives the club room to manage any approach, although it could also encourage potential suitors to accelerate their plans if they want to secure him before his profile rises further.

Juventus appear to be seeking an early advantage, but Milan, Real Betis and Olympique de Marseille could all become more concrete contenders in the coming period. Kokora is therefore emerging as one of the young defenders attracting significant attention among European clubs.

The 18-year-old’s immediate development will continue with Standard de Liege’s reserve side, while the interest surrounding him is likely to remain focused on whether he can build on his initial progress and move towards a higher level of competition.
