South Africa face Egypt in an international friendly at Cairo International Stadium on Sunday evening, with both nations naming their starting line-ups for the meeting.
Bafana Bafana arrive in Egypt after making an excellent start under new manager Pitso Mosimane. They lead Group D in the 2027 African Cup of Nations qualifiers after recording consecutive victories over Guinea and Eritrea.
Egypt, meanwhile, recovered from a disappointing opening result in Group B. The Pharaohs were held to a goalless draw by Angola at home before responding with a 5-0 victory over South Sudan, a result which moved them to the top of their qualifying group.
The seven-time African champions are managed by former Egypt great Hossam Hassan and have lost only once in their past five matches in all competitions. That defeat came in the last 16 of the FIFA World Cup against eventual runners-up Argentina.
Egypt defeated South Africa in the most recent meeting between the sides, during the group stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. A controversial penalty converted by Mohamed Salah settled that contest in favour of the Pharaohs.
The previous official friendly between the two countries took place in Johannesburg in 2016, when Bafana Bafana claimed victory.
Kick-off is scheduled for 20h00.
