Kaizer Chiefs overturn two-goal deficit to defeat Sundowns

Kaizer Chiefs came from 2-0 down to beat Mamelodi Sundowns 4-2 in a six-goal DStv Diski Challenge thriller on Sunday afternoon.

Sundowns took control in the first half, with Simphiwe Mlondo and Lehlohonolo Mahlangu putting the visitors two goals ahead.

But Chiefs produced a strong second-half performance to complete the comeback. Benjamin Eliyahu started the revival before Samkelo Msimango brought the scores level. Neo Bohloko then put the Amakhosi in front, with Kamogelo Malefo adding a fourth goal.

The result continues Chiefs’ positive start after they edged past defending champions Orlando Pirates last weekend. Sundowns had opened their campaign by defeating Durban City.

Sundowns were without Siyabonga Mabena, Bennet Mokoena and Letlhaku for this match, while Chiefs were missing Emile Dortley because of suspension.

Milford claim first victory

Milford FC recorded their first win of the DStv Diski Challenge season by beating Kruger United 3-1 on Sunday morning.

Kruger United held the advantage at half-time after Neo Mabuza gave the visitors the lead.

Milford responded decisively after the break. Likhona Fatyela equalised before Siphamandla Mhlongo completed the turnaround, and Okuhle Majavu added the third.

Golden Arrows edge Polokwane City

Golden Arrows secured their maiden victory of the season with a 3-2 win away against Polokwane City on Sunday morning.

Hlumelo Mandla scored twice for the KwaZulu-Natal side, while Diego Gumede also found the net to complete Arrows’ scoring.

Gallants and Sekhukhune share points

Marumo Gallants remain without a win after their opening two matches following a 1-1 draw with Sekhukhune United.

Sekhukhune United were unable to maintain their winning start, with the two sides sharing the points.
