Paris Saint-Germain secure first option on Braga prospect Mario Dorgeles

Paris Saint-Germain have paid €3.3m to secure priority access to Braga attacking midfielder Mario Dorgeles, giving the French club first choice should the 22-year-old leave the Portuguese side.

The agreement does not represent an immediate transfer for the Ivory Coast international, but ensures PSG are at the front of the queue if Braga decide to sell the player in the future.

According to Portuguese sports newspaper A Bola, the deal was helped by the increasingly close relationship between the two clubs. Qatar Sports Investments, the fund that owns Paris Saint-Germain, holds almost 30% of Braga’s shares.

That connection facilitated negotiations over Dorgeles, who joined Braga for €11m in the summer of 2025. The midfielder had an impressive 2025/26 campaign, scoring seven goals and providing four assists.

His involvement has been more limited this season, however. Dorgeles has started only five of Braga’s eight matches so far.

PSG’s agreement therefore gives them protection over a promising young player rather than confirming plans to bring him to Paris in the near future. Dorgeles, who was born in Andokoi, remains under contract with SC Braga until June 2029.

SC Braga are next scheduled to face Sporting CP in the eighth round of the Portuguese league.
