The Chadian Ministry of Sports and the Chadian Football Federation are set to formalise a strategic partnership with Spanish league LaLiga, in a move designed to establish a sustainable sporting structure across the country.
The agreement will focus on the long-term development of football in Chad, with continued training for local coaches at the centre of the plans. It will also support the modernisation of the national championship and lead to major talent-identification campaigns across all of Chad’s provinces.
The initiative is intended to create a stronger foundation for the country’s football system rather than concentrating solely on competition. By developing coaches, improving the national league and identifying young players nationwide, the partnership aims to support the progress of a new generation of athletes.
Education and sports-business training
The cooperation will also include an academic programme through LALIGA Business School. Its purpose is to train professionals for careers in sports business and provide practical opportunities for players and female players approaching the end of their playing careers to retrain.
The programme will therefore extend beyond sporting development, with a focus on building expertise among future administrators and other professionals working in the sports industry.
Through the partnership, Chad hopes to create a lasting structure for its sports industry and help a new generation of athletes and sporting leaders reach the international stage.
