Senegal face Ethiopia with Group J pressure in 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying

Senegal will look to make their first win of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign when they visit Ethiopia on Tuesday.

The Lions of Teranga were held to a 1-1 draw by Mozambique in their opening Group J fixture. They now travel to the Bahir Dar International Stadium aiming to claim three points and move their campaign forward. Kick-off is scheduled for 13:00 GMT.

Ethiopia are also seeking a response after beginning their qualifying campaign with a 1-0 defeat by Sudan. Both Ethiopia and Senegal are therefore one point behind the Sudanese, who won their opening match and currently lead the group.

The result in Bahir Dar will be important for both sides as they attempt to close the gap on Sudan. Senegal, managed by Patrick Vieira, will be aiming to turn their first outing’s draw into a victory in their second match.
