Besiktas president wishes Mohamed Salah success at Trabzonspor

Serdar Adali has wished Egypt captain Mohamed Salah success at Trabzonspor after the forward’s proposed move to Besiktas broke down over financial terms.

“God willing, Mohamed Salah will be very useful to Trabzonspor,” Adali said in comments reported by Turkish newspaper Kartal Record.

Adali was responding to a question about Salah, who had been close to joining Besiktas before the transfer was redirected to Trabzonspor.

The negotiations with Besiktas collapsed after disagreements over the financial demands of Salah and his agent, Ramy Abbas. Salah subsequently completed a move to Trabzonspor following the end of his contract with English club Liverpool.

The Egypt international has made an immediate impact in Turkey and is currently the leading scorer in the Turkish league, having scored seven goals for his new club.

Salah will miss Egypt’s upcoming Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying match against South Sudan because the game is being played on an artificial-turf pitch.
