Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester rivals track 15-year-old FC Copenhagen talent Ilyas Houira

Ilyas Houira, the 15-year-old midfielder contracted to FC Copenhagen, is attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

The Moroccan youngster is currently based in Morocco because he does not have a Danish passport, and has recently been selected for the Morocco Under-17 squad. Tipsbladet has reported details of the growing interest in his development.

Houira remains under contract with FC Copenhagen, but his potential has already drawn significant attention beyond Denmark. According to Tipsbladet, a number of leading European clubs are monitoring the teenager closely.

Several of those clubs have also travelled to England to watch him in person. Premier League sides Manchester City, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea are all following the young FC Copenhagen player, while Borussia Dortmund and Ajax are also keeping track of his progress.

Clubs from both France and Spain have expressed an interest as well. The attention surrounding Houira began before he moved to FC Copenhagen from AGF at the start of the year.

Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund, Ajax and FC Barcelona were among the clubs already interested in the technically gifted midfielder before the transfer was completed. Despite that competition, FC Copenhagen succeeded in securing his services.

Interest in Houira has continued to increase since his arrival. In March, on his 15th birthday, he signed a three-year contract with the Copenhageners after leaving AGF during the winter break.

Since joining FC Copenhagen, Houira has continued his development within the club’s system. Despite his age, he has been training and playing alongside older and talented players, further increasing his exposure to senior football.

His lack of a Danish passport means he is currently representing Morocco, and his selection for the country’s Under-17 team provides another step in his progress. With clubs from England, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Spain monitoring him, the midfielder has become one of FC Copenhagen’s most closely watched young players.
