Mamelodi Sundowns complete deadline-day signing of AmaZulu defender Wandile Dube

Mamelodi Sundowns have completed the signing of AmaZulu defender Wandile Dube, adding the highly rated 22-year-old to Miguel Cardoso’s squad before the transfer window closed.

The Tshwane club confirmed the move after lengthy negotiations with AmaZulu, following a deal first reported by KickOff.com. Dube travelled to Johannesburg to undergo his medical before the transfer was finalised.

“Mamelodi Sundowns have added another young talent to the roster! Yellow Nation, let’s welcome Wandile Dube to the Yellow army,” the club said in a statement.

Dube is a left-footed centre-back who can also play at left-back, giving Sundowns another option in defence as they continue to strengthen their squad.

Although Mamelodi Sundowns did not reveal the length of the contract, it is understood that Dube has agreed an initial three-year deal with the club.

The defender was promoted to the AmaZulu first team at the beginning of the 2025/26 season and made 10 appearances during the campaign.

AmaZulu finished fourth in the Betway Premiership, while Dube’s transfer now begins a new stage of his career with Mamelodi Sundowns.

He joins a club that regularly competes for honours on both the domestic and continental stage, and will face increased competition for a place in Cardoso’s defensive line.
