Bayern Munich confident of extending Harry Kane contract

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer says the club expects to agree a contract extension with Harry Kane, whose current deal runs until the end of the 2026/27 season.

Hainer said the Bundesliga champions want to continue their relationship with the England captain while speaking to BILD during Bayern’s traditional visit to Oktoberfest.

“We want to extend with him and I also think that’s what will happen,” Hainer said.

Kane, 33, has also given an encouraging assessment of the negotiations, saying the situation is “looking pretty good”.

However, discussions are continuing over the length of any new agreement. Contracts extending until 2029 or 2030 have reportedly been considered.

Hainer believes Kane’s settled life in Munich, together with his family, strengthens Bayern’s position as they seek to retain their leading goalscorer.

The club’s chief executive, Jan-Christian Dreesen, has suggested that the negotiations could be completed after the next three-week international break.

Kane’s performances since joining Bayern Munich have added weight to the case for a longer stay. He scored 73 competitive goals last season and remains a prominent contender in the Ballon d’Or conversation.
