Pitso Mosimane adds Marcus Mashilo to Bafana Bafana coaching staff

Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that Marcus Mashilo has joined his technical team as goalkeeper coach for the upcoming international camp.

Mosimane was appointed earlier this month as the successor to Hugo Broos and initially arrived with two members of his established backroom staff.

Long-serving analyst Musi Matlaba and conditioning coach Kabelo Rangoaga were the first additions to the new set-up. Morena Ramoreboli was subsequently brought in as assistant coach after stepping down as Botswana head coach.

Mashilo is the latest appointment. Mosimane confirmed on Monday that the former Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows goalkeeper specialist had joined the squad ahead of the international break.

Mashilo started the season with Marumo Gallants but will now work with the national team during the forthcoming camp.

Mosimane also said the locally based players had reported for duty “with no issues”. The players based overseas are expected to arrive this evening.

Bafana Bafana begin the break by hosting Guinea at Orlando Amstel Arena on Friday. They will then face Eritrea in Egypt four days later before ending the international window with a friendly in Egypt on 4 October.
