Omar Fayed called up by Egypt for 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Egypt have called up young defender Omar Fayed for their 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign after Hamdi Fathy was ruled out through injury.

Fayed, who is currently playing for Frosinone in Italy, has been added to the Pharaohs squad to cover for Fathy, who will be unavailable during the international gathering.

The decision comes as Egypt prepare for two important qualifying matches against Angola and South Sudan. The coaching staff are looking to Fayed’s energy and defensive strength to help maintain balance at the back.
