Youssouf Fofana scores first Sevilla goal against Barcelona

Youssouf Fofana opened his account for Sevilla FC by scoring against FC Barcelona on Saturday in the seventh round of La Liga.

The French-Malian midfielder started in Sevilla’s midfield and put the Andalusian side ahead in the fixture with his first goal since moving to Spain. FC Barcelona later levelled, with the teams going into half-time at 1-1.

Valued at €23m by Transfermarkt, Fofana is spending this season with Sevilla on a one-year loan from AC Milan. The defensive midfielder is continuing his career in La Liga after his time with the Rossoneri.

The match was already Fofana’s fourth appearance for the Andalusian club this season. His goal against FC Barcelona gives his Sevilla career an early lift as he looks to build on the performance in his new colours.
