Zakynthos sign England and Morocco winger Kareem Ben-Kmayal
London-born England and Morocco winger Kareem Ben-Kmayal has joined Greek club Zakynthos after spending the opening part of the 2026-27 season without a club.
The 24-year-old has signed a contract with the Super League 2 side running until 30 June 2027. Ben-Kmayal plays primarily on the left wing and is capable of operating on his right foot.
He left Anagennisi Karditsa on 1 July before completing his move to Zakynthos on 19 September. The winger had joined Anagennisi Karditsa from Olympiakos Nicosia in September 2025, also on a free transfer.
Ben-Kmayal’s move to Zakynthos gives him a new opportunity in Greece after a spell with Anagennisi Karditsa. His previous club was also competing in the Greek second tier, meaning the switch keeps him in the same division.
The player began his senior career in Cyprus, where he represented Pafos, Pegia 2014, Othellos Athienou, PAEEK Kyrenia and EN Ypsonas. He also spent time in the youth systems of Charlton Athletic and Huddersfield Town before moving to Volenti Academy.
Ben-Kmayal was born in London and holds English and Moroccan nationality. He is listed at 1.78m and joins Zakynthos with a market value of €200,000.
Zakynthos have registered the winger for the 2026-27 campaign, with his contract now secured through the end of June 2027.
