French-Algerian striker Djibrill Hattab joins Chateauroux on free transfer
French-Algerian centre-forward Djibrill Hattab has joined LB Chateauroux from Av. Bayonnais on a free transfer.
The 24-year-old returns to Chateauroux after leaving the club’s reserve side earlier in 2026. Hattab moved from Chateauroux B to Av. Bayonnais on 30 January, also on a free transfer, before switching back to the National 1 club on 18 September.
Hattab was born in Auxerre on 12 January 2002 and plays as a centre-forward. His move takes him from Av. Bayonnais, who compete in National 1 Group B, to Chateauroux’s side in National 1 Group C.
The forward began his senior career with AJ Auxerre B after progressing from AJ Auxerre Under-19s. He left Auxerre B in July 2022 and subsequently spent time with AFC Compiegne B, Cosne UCS, Besancon Foot and AS Chatou before joining Chateauroux B in July 2025.
His first spell with Chateauroux lasted until January, when he moved to Av. Bayonnais. The return to the club completes a sequence of two transfers involving Hattab during 2026, with both moves taking place without a transfer fee.
Chateauroux are Hattab’s latest club in a career that has so far been spent in French football. His arrival adds a centre-forward to the squad, although he had not made an appearance for Av. Bayonnais before completing the move.
Hattab has now returned to Chateauroux, with the transfer formally completed on 18 September 2026.
