Senegal winger Idrissa Camara joins Av. Bayonnais on free transfer

Senegal winger Idrissa Camara has joined French club Av. Bayonnais on a free transfer, giving the 28-year-old a new opportunity in National 1 Group B.

Camara completed the move on 18 September 2026 after a spell without a club. He had most recently been with KF Iliria, whom he left on 1 July, before agreeing to switch to Av. Bayonnais.

The left winger has already made an immediate impact in his new surroundings, scoring once in his only appearance in National 1 Group B this season. He has played 25 minutes, with his goal coming during that outing.

Born in Dakar, Camara is a Senegal international by nationality and stands 1.79m tall. He is predominantly right-footed despite operating from the left side of attack, offering Av. Bayonnais a wide player capable of cutting in from his favoured flank.

Camara began his senior career with Sacre Cur before moving to Turkish club Umraniyespor in October 2020. He later joined Dijon from Umraniyespor in July 2022, with that move recorded as a free transfer.

The winger subsequently left Dijon for Boluspor in August 2023. His time at the Turkish club ended in January 2025, after which he spent a period without a club before joining KF Iliria in January 2026.

Camara’s latest move is his second change of club in the 2026-27 season, following his departure from KF Iliria in the summer. The switch to Av. Bayonnais brings him back into club football after his brief spell as a free agent.

His early goal gives him a positive start with the French side, although the available record covers only one appearance so far this campaign. Av. Bayonnais have now added the Senegalese winger to their squad for the National 1 Group B season.

Camara’s transfer to Av. Bayonnais was completed on 18 September 2026.
