Durban City midfielder Kyle Jurgens says his side are clear on what is required to secure a positive result against Orlando Pirates in the Betway Premiership on Thursday.
The teams meet at the Orlando Amstel Arena, with kick-off scheduled for 19:30.
Durban City approach the fixture with renewed confidence after recording consecutive victories over Rukinzo in the CAF Confederation Cup. Those results secured their progress to the next round of the competition.
The match has added interest because Durban City produced strong displays during their two most recent visits to Orlando. Jurgens believes those performances, along with their recent continental success, will give the visitors belief before their latest meeting with Pirates.
“We want to put in a performance that we can be proud of and, ultimately, get the result we’re looking for,” Jurgens said, according to Durban City.
The midfielder acknowledged the difficulty of the assignment but insisted the team would travel with the right mindset and commitment.
“We know it won’t be easy, but we’ll go into the game confident, focused and ready to give everything for the team,” he added.
Durban City have had little time to dwell on their previous result, with their attention quickly turning back to domestic competition. Jurgens said the squad had made the necessary adjustment as they prepared for another important fixture.
“We’re looking forward to the game. It’s another important fixture for us, and after the last match we’ve had to quickly shift our focus and prepare ourselves for what’s ahead. We know what we need to do.”
