Michael Olise included in Bayern Munich squad after knee injury concern

Bayern Munich have confirmed that Michael Olise is fit to face Atletico de Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday, 03 November 2026, after recovering from the knee problem that forced him off against Borussia Dortmund.

The France winger was substituted during Saturday’s 2-2 draw in the German Klassiker after suffering an injury to his right knee. His condition had raised concerns at Bayern, with the club facing an important European fixture at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Those fears were eased when Olise returned to full team training on Monday morning. His participation means he has been included in the Bayern Munich squad travelling to Spain for the match, the club confirmed through its official social media channels.

Olise’s availability provides a boost for Vincent Kompany, who had been waiting for further updates following the player’s early withdrawal at the weekend. The winger is now available for selection as Bayern prepare for the Champions League meeting with Atletico de Madrid.

The German side have also welcomed back goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. The experienced captain had missed Bayern’s previous three matches but has recovered in time to give Kompany another option for the demanding away fixture.

However, Bayern remain without several important players. Luis Diaz and Jamal Musiala are among those unavailable, while Ismail Saibari and Serge Gnabry will also miss the game.

The absences could force Kompany to make changes to his starting line-up, despite the return of Olise and Neuer. Bayern will therefore travel to the Wanda Metropolitano with two key players restored but still facing a number of selection issues.

The match against Atletico de Madrid takes place on Tuesday, 03 November 2026, in the Champions League.
