Telkom VS Gaming to headline esports action at Comic Con Africa 2026

Telkom VS Gaming will bring competitive gaming, free-to-play challenges and cosplay contests to Comic Con Africa 2026, taking place at the JHB Expo Centre in Nasrec from 24-27 September.

Comic Con Africa is the continent’s biggest celebration of pop culture, bringing together fans of entertainment, technology, gaming and creative culture. The 2026 event will be the seventh edition since the convention began in 2018.

Telkom VS Gaming will again have a dedicated space at the four-day showcase under its “For All Gamers” banner. The area will cater for esports competitors, committed players, casual gamers and followers of gaming culture, offering opportunities to play, compete and explore the VS Gaming ecosystem.

The event will feature a series of finals from the Telkom VS Gaming competitive calendar. They include:

– Masters Counter-Strike Final – Championship Rocket League Final – HSEL Counter-Strike Final – HSEL Rocket League Final – Tekken Final – PUBG Final

The tournaments will include both team and individual competitions, with more than R500,000 available across the combined prize pool.

Visitors will also be able to take part in free-to-play challenges throughout the event. Games on offer will include EAFC Mobile, Kasi Rush, PUBG Mobile, EAFC and Tekken.

Participants in those challenges will compete for monetary prizes, Samsung devices and exclusive Telkom VS Gaming merchandise.

New VS Gaming offering

The gaming experience will also include appearances by the Telkom VS Gaming Squad on the main stage. Mobile Mo, Vibey Val, S-Tech and the newest member, Lucky Lou, will meet fans and provide an insight into the developing VS Gaming universe.

Telkom is also evolving its gaming proposition with the launch of VS Gaming PRO, a premium offering within the wider VS Gaming ecosystem.

VS Gaming will continue to operate as the gaming platform and entry point, connecting communities involved in professional esports, mobile gaming, casual gaming, schools and grassroots gaming. VS Gaming PRO will add a premium, paid tier, giving consumers access to enhanced gaming experiences, premium benefits, content, tournaments and other value-added opportunities.

Comic Con Africa’s creative community will be represented through the returning Next Gen Cosplay Competition. The contest will have an increased prize pool of R30,000 in 2026.

From watching tournament finals to competing in games and celebrating cosplay, the Telkom VS Gaming activation will showcase the different ways gaming connects people at Comic Con Africa 2026.
