Allianz Arena and Camp Nou awarded Champions League finals in 2028 and 2029

UEFA has selected Munich’s Allianz Arena and Barcelona’s Camp Nou to stage the Champions League finals in 2028 and 2029 respectively.

The Allianz Arena will host European club football’s biggest match for the third time in 2028. The stadium previously held the final in 2012, when Chelsea defeated Bayern Munich on penalties.

It was also the venue for the 2025 final, in which Paris Saint-Germain won the Champions League for the first time.

The competition will return to Camp Nou in 2029, giving Barcelona a third opportunity to host the final.

Camp Nou last staged the showpiece in 1999, when Manchester United completed a dramatic comeback against Bayern Munich. United trailed 1-0 before two goals in stoppage time from Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer secured a 2-1 victory.

Barcelona’s selection comes one year before Spain is due to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Portugal and Morocco.

Before the finals reach Munich and Barcelona, Madrid’s Estadio Metropolitano will host the 2026-27 Champions League final on June 5. The stadium is the home of Atletico Madrid.
