Derrick Kohn in line for Ghana return ahead of 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers

Derrick Kohn could be set to return to the Ghana squad after rebuilding his case with a series of consistent Bundesliga performances.

The 27-year-old left-back has been out of the Black Stars’ recent squads following Baba Rahman’s return to international football. Despite being overlooked, Kohn continued working to earn another opportunity with Ghana.

His omission from the squad for the last World Cup had raised questions among supporters, but his form for Union Berlin now appears to have put him back in contention.

Born in Hamburg, Kohn has emerged once again as a strong option on Ghana’s left flank. His pace and ability to drive forward could offer the Black Stars an added attacking threat in that position as they prepare for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
