Aubameyang, 37, scores in fifth successive Liga game for Deportivo La Corogne

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang continued his impressive start to life in Spain by scoring in Deportivo La Corogne’s match against Getafe on Sunday.

The Gabon striker headed an equaliser in the 77th minute after Deportivo had fallen behind, taking his tally to five goals in as many league matches since the start of the season.

Aubameyang joined Deportivo La Corogne from Olympique de Marseille during the summer and has quickly become one of the promoted club’s main attacking threats. His experience and finishing have provided the newly promoted side with a proven number nine as they begin their return to the Spanish top flight.

The 37-year-old had already scored in each of the opening four league rounds. His latest goal extended that run and ensured Deportivo remained in contention against Getafe.

Aubameyang’s consistent scoring record since moving to Spain means he could soon establish himself among the leading scorers in the championship. His form also makes him one of Deportivo La Corogne’s key assets for the season.

Deportivo La Corogne will play their sixth league match against Sevilla. The listed odds for the fixture are 2.35 for a Deportivo victory, 3.10 for a draw and 2.95 for a Sevilla win.
