Morocco international Ismael Saibari continued his impressive start to life at Bayern Munich by providing an assist in the German champions’ 2-1 Bundesliga victory over Elversberg on Sunday.

The midfielder was handed another start by Vincent Kompany and played a key role in Bayern’s opening goal in the 26th minute.

Saibari drove into the penalty area from the left before sending a low cross across the face of goal. The ball travelled through the box to Lennart Karl, who finished left-footed at the far post to put Bayern ahead.

Saibari reaches three Bundesliga assists

The assist was Saibari’s third in the Bundesliga this season, putting him joint-top of the league’s assist rankings after three matchdays, according to the competition’s official live data.

The Moroccan remained a threat in the final third and came close to getting on the scoresheet himself.

He headed an effort wide before later curling another attempt narrowly past the post as Bayern looked to extend their advantage.

Elversberg responded strongly after the break and levelled in the 61st minute through Maurice Krattenmacher.

The former Bayern player found space outside the penalty area before producing an excellent curling finish beyond goalkeeper Jonas Urbig, with Noah Darvich providing the assist.

Saibari’s involvement ended four minutes later when Kompany made a four-player substitution, bringing Luis Díaz onto the pitch.

Kane restores Bayern’s lead

Bayern regained control in the 72nd minute through Harry Kane.

Aleksandar Pavlović found the England captain inside the penalty area and Kane created space before firing into the top corner to restore Bayern’s advantage.

The goal was Kane’s 150th in 153 competitive appearances for the Bavarian giants.

Bayern held on despite late pressure from Elversberg to end the promoted side’s perfect start to the campaign, which had included victories over Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Bayern maintain strong start

The victory moves Bayern onto seven points from their opening three Bundesliga matches.

They had previously beaten Stuttgart 5-1 before drawing 0-0 at Schalke and now securing victory away to Elversberg.

For Saibari, his latest assist adds to an encouraging beginning to his first season in Germany following his summer move from PSV Eindhoven.

Bayern return to Bundesliga action against Union Berlin on Friday.
