Stade de Reims are advancing with their interest in Sporting Club de Bastia attacking midfielder Alexandre Bi Zaouai, with talks over a possible transfer reportedly progressing.
The Ivory Coast midfielder is under contract with Sporting Club de Bastia until June 2029, but Reims have made a concrete approach for the player, according to 225foot.
Bi Zaouai has gradually established himself as an important member of the Bastia squad. His technical ability, attacking output and capacity to make a difference in the final third are understood to have persuaded Reims’ directors to pursue a deal.
A move would give Stade de Reims the opportunity to add creativity to their attacking options. For Bi Zaouai, whose market value is estimated at 1.5m euros, a transfer to Reims would represent another step in his development and a fresh stage in his professional career.
The young Ivorian had previously been monitored by Aris Thessaloniki, as reported exclusively by Africafoot. Olympiakos had also shown interest in recent days, with a transfer fee of more than 2m euros and a four-year contract reportedly under discussion.
However, Reims now appear to be in the strongest position to complete the signing of Bi Zaouai.
Stade de Reims are due to play their sixth Ligue 2 match of the season against AS Nancy-Lorraine.
