Mamelodi Sundowns to face Wiliete SC in CAF Champions League qualifying

Mamelodi Sundowns will play Angolan side Wiliete SC in the second qualifying round of the CAF Champions League after Wiliete eliminated Seychelles club Foresters FC.

Wiliete, the former club of Orlando Pirates winger Gilberto, secured their place in the competition by finishing second in the Girabola last season.

The Angolan side advanced from the first qualifying round with a 5-0 aggregate victory over Foresters. They established a commanding advantage in the first leg, winning 4-0 with goals from Mabululu, who scored twice, Gilberto and Cesar Cangue.

Wiliete completed the tie with a 1-0 victory in the second leg on Thursday. Mabululu scored the only goal of the match, taking his tally across the two games to three.

The club have also made a strong start to the new Girabola season, winning each of their first three matches. They currently occupy second place in the table behind 1 de Agosto.

The second qualifying round will be played over two legs. The first matches are scheduled for 16-18 October, with the return fixtures taking place from 23-25 October.
