Amr El-Gazar undergoes scans to determine length of Al Ahly absence

Amr El-Gazar is undergoing scans on the knee injury he suffered during Al Ahly’s 1-1 draw with Arab Contractors in the Egyptian Premier League.

The defender was forced off in the second half of the match at Green Mountain Stadium, with Hady Riyad coming on as his replacement.

Al Ahly’s medical staff are waiting for the results of the scans before deciding how long El-Gazar will be unavailable.

Al Ahly doctor Ahmed Gaballah previously told the club’s official website that the injury was a knee sprain.

The draw was Al Ahly’s first setback in the league this season. They took one point from the match to move on to 10 points, level with Zamalek.

Arab Contractors moved to four points and are 13th in the table.

The result also left Pyramids alone at the top of the league with 12 points.
