Liverpool fight back to beat Atletico Madrid in Champions League league phase

Liverpool came from behind to defeat Atletico Madrid in a dramatic Champions League league-phase match, with Marcos Llorente putting the Spanish side ahead before Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister turned the game around.

Atletico made the stronger start and briefly threatened to take control. Llorente was caught offside early on, while Julian Alvarez tested Liverpool’s goalkeeper with efforts from inside and outside the penalty area. Alex Baena also tried his luck from distance, but his shot went narrowly wide.
