Al Ahli complete £10m signing of Ibrahima Diaby as African transfer news continues

Al Ahli have completed the signing of 19-year-old Franco-Guinean defensive midfielder Ibrahima Makaya Diaby from Cercle Bruges for 12m euros, with the player agreeing a contract running until 30 June 2030 and including an option for a further year.

The Saudi Arabian club confirmed the transfer on its Instagram account. Diaby’s market value is estimated at 1.5m euros.

The deal is the most significant move in Africafoot’s latest live round-up of transfer developments involving African players, which also includes Omar Colley’s switch to Al Fayha, the loan move of Gambian forward Youssoupha Sanyang and several deals involving clubs in Bulgaria.

Colley joins Al Fayha after Al Diriyah talks fail

Gambia international Omar Colley will continue his career in Saudi Arabia after signing for Al Fayha.

The 33-year-old central defender had been in discussions with Al Diriyah FC over a contract extension, according to Footy-Africa, but the two parties were unable to reach an agreement. Colley subsequently chose to join Al Fayha, who announced his transfer in a statement published on Instagram.

The move allows Colley to remain in Saudi Arabia and continue playing at the highest level. His estimated market value is 1.2m euros.

Spartak Varna sign two players from Botev Plovdiv

Spartak Varna have announced the arrivals of Nigerian striker Chidera Michael Okoh and Bissau-Guinean defensive midfielder Edson Martinho Silva.

Both players join from Botev Plovdiv, with Spartak Varna confirming the deals on Instagram.

Okoh, 23, is valued at 500,000 euros and remains tied to his former club until 30 June 2029. Silva, 25, has an estimated market value of 250,000 euros and is under contract with Botev Plovdiv until 30 June 2028.

Botev Plovdiv have also confirmed the loan signing of Nigerian right winger Ehije Success Ukaki from Sheffield United.

The 21-year-old will stay with the Bulgarian club until 30 June 2027, while his contract with Sheffield United runs until 30 June 2028. Ukaki’s market value is estimated at 700,000 euros.

He spent the second half of the 2025-26 season on loan at Atromitos.

Sanyang moves to SK Artis Brno

Gambia international Youssoupha Sanyang has joined SK Artis Brno on a season-long loan from SK Slavia Prague.

The Czech club announced the arrival of the 21-year-old attacker on Instagram. Sanyang remains under contract with SK Slavia Prague until 30 June 2030 and has an estimated market value of 2.7m euros, according to Transfermarkt.

N’Diaye starts again in Jordan

Mauritania international Bakary Moussa N’Diaye has agreed a move to Al Jazeera Club in the Jordanian Pro League as he looks to revive his career.

The 27-year-old central defender had been without a club since February 2025. Al Jazeera Club confirmed his signing on social media.

The move gives N’Diaye an opportunity to return to regular football and competitive action after several months out of the game. His market value is estimated at 100,000 euros.
