‘Continue what you do best’ – Andre Ayew sends message to Jordan after Sheffield United move

Andre Ayew has congratulated his brother Jordan Ayew following his move to Sheffield United, urging the Ghana captain to continue enjoying football after their memorable summer together.

Jordan completed a return to the Championship on Tuesday after Sheffield United announced his signing on a free transfer.

The 34-year-old joined the Blades on a one-year contract after leaving Leicester City in July following the expiration of his deal with the Premier League club.

André’s message came after the brothers spent several months together in Ghana, where they featured in community football matches at Nania Park in Legon, Tema and Kumasi.

Their games at Nania Park attracted other professional footballers and drew considerable attention from football fans, with the matches becoming a regular topic of discussion.

Reflecting on their time together, Andre wrote on his IG story: “Really lovely time spent together again for a few months, just like in them days. It was needed. Now, go continue what you do best.”

Jordan will now turn his attention to helping Sheffield United improve their fortunes after a difficult opening to the Championship season.

The club have recorded just one win from their first five matches, leaving them in need of a turnaround as the campaign progresses.

Jordan brings considerable experience to the Sheffield United squad, having spent more than a decade playing English football.

He previously represented Aston Villa, Swansea City, Crystal Palace and Leicester City in the Premier League before securing his latest move.

The transfer also gives the Ghana captain another opportunity to continue his professional career in England, where he has established himself as one of the country’s most experienced Ghanaian players.
