Mbaye Niang set for Dunkerque switch

Mbaye Niang is close to joining USL Dunkerque after the Ligue 2 club reached a verbal agreement with the Senegalese striker and his camp.

The former AC Milan forward is available as a free agent after leaving Turkish side Genclerbirligi, and he now looks set for a fresh start in northern France.

Dunkerque have been active in the market and already added 2018 World Cup winner Steven Nzonzi, so Niang would become another eye-catching arrival. The club want more experience and firepower up front after the departure of Thomas Robinet, and Niang fits that profile well.

The deal is expected to run for one season, with an option for an extra year if both sides are happy. A medical is planned in the coming days before the transfer is officially confirmed. If everything goes to plan, Niang will bring size, movement, and a proven top-level background to a side aiming to stay competitive in Ligue 2.
