Nasreddine Nabi takes Raja Casablanca pay dispute to FIFA

Tunisian coach Nasreddine Nabi is reportedly preparing to take former club Raja Casablanca to FIFA over unpaid financial dues, with the coach seeking the equivalent of about R7.2m.

Nabi is understood to be claiming the full salary for the season after his departure from the Moroccan giants, which came one month before the start of the new Botola Pro campaign. The reported dispute follows an alleged disagreement with Raja sporting director Rogerio Matias.

According to LeSiteInfo, the amount being sought is around 422 million centimes, or approximately R7.2m. Nabi’s legal representatives are expected to submit a complaint to FIFA’s Disputes Committee.

The case will also challenge a contractual clause that allowed Raja to terminate Nabi’s agreement unilaterally in return for two months’ salary. His lawyer is expected to dispute the validity of that arrangement as part of the complaint.

Nabi only took charge of Raja during the final month of the 2025/26 campaign. The club were unable to win the title during that period and ended the season in third place.

The coach’s departure has since been followed by a rapid change in the dugout, with Raja confirming the appointment of Paco Jemez as their new head coach.

Raja will begin their Botola Pro campaign against AS FAR Rabat on 24 September.

The reported legal action comes after Nabi addressed his exit publicly in an interview in which he was quoted as saying: “I am a self-respecting coach.” His split from Raja has now moved beyond the club, with the disagreement over his remaining salary and the termination clause set to be considered by FIFA’s Disputes Committee.
