French-Malian midfielder M’Paly Sacko joins Sandona after spell without a club
France and Mali midfielder M’Paly Sacko has joined Italian club Sandona, putting an end to his spell without a club. The 22-year-old central midfielder has signed a contract running until 30 June 2027.
Sacko’s move to Sandona was completed on 4 September, with the club competing in Serie D – C. He arrives after leaving Sarrabus Ogl at the beginning of July and will now continue his career in Italy’s fourth tier.
The Paris-born midfielder spent the 2025-26 season with Sarrabus Ogl, having joined the club from Ostiamare in August 2025. That move was completed as a free transfer, following Sacko’s spell with Ostiamare during the 2024-25 campaign.
Sacko has built his experience largely in Italian football since arriving from Belgium’s RE Virton, whom he joined from Salernitana’s under-19 side in August 2023. Before that, he had spent time with Matese and US Torcy’s youth set-up in France.
Across his recorded Serie D appearances, the right-footed midfielder has played 66 matches, scoring four goals and providing three assists. His record includes 31 appearances and three goals in Serie D – G, as well as 20 appearances and one goal in Serie D – F. He also made 15 appearances in Serie D – E, registering one assist.
Sacko has also featured in youth and reserve competitions, including Primavera 2, the National U19 league and the Coppa Serie D. He scored once in seven Primavera 2 appearances and made a further appearance in the Coppa Serie D.
Standing 1.89m tall, Sacko is listed primarily as a central midfielder and brings experience of Italian football at several levels. His career has also included a period without a club before joining Ostiamare in November 2024, following his departure from RE Virton earlier that year.
His arrival gives Sandona a midfielder with recent Serie D experience and a contract that secures his services through the end of the 2026-27 season. M’Paly Sacko is now a Sandona player through 30 June 2027.
