Edo Queens and Ampem Darkoa set for decisive UFOA-B final with CAF place on offer

Edo Queens of Nigeria and Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa will contest the final of the UFOA-B women’s qualifying tournament, with the winners securing direct qualification for the next CAF Women’s Champions League.

The two sides, both champions of their respective countries, have reached the regional final after convincing victories in the semi-finals. Edo Queens swept aside Burkina Faso’s Colombes de l’USFA 5-1, while Ampem Darkoa defeated Benin’s Dynamique FC 4-1.

Those results have set up a final between two teams who have already demonstrated their attacking strength during the competition. The match will decide not only the UFOA-B title but also which club will represent the zone in the next edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League.

The final is also an opportunity for Edo Queens to settle an earlier score. Ampem Darkoa beat the Nigerian champions 2-1 during the group stage, giving the Ghanaian side the psychological advantage before the two teams meet again.

Edo Queens will therefore be seeking a different outcome in the tournament’s most important match, while Ampem Darkoa will aim to repeat the success that gave them victory in their first encounter. With the regional championship and continental qualification both at stake, the rematch carries greater significance than their group-stage meeting.

Kick-off is scheduled for 19:00 GMT at Stade du 4-Aout in Ouagadougou. The fixture brings together the two national champions in what promises to be a closely contested battle for the UFOA-B crown.

Both teams have negotiated the knockout stage with authority. Edo Queens’ five-goal win against Colombes de l’USFA secured their place in the final in emphatic fashion, while Ampem Darkoa produced a similarly commanding display against Dynamique FC.

The outcome will determine which club takes the next step on the continental stage. The winner will gain a direct place in the forthcoming CAF Women’s Champions League, providing an additional reward beyond regional success.

For Edo Queens, victory would overturn the disappointment of the group-stage defeat and deliver the UFOA-B title. For Ampem Darkoa, another win over their Nigerian opponents would confirm their superiority in the competition and complete their bid for regional honours.

The final in Ouagadougou is consequently the decisive meeting of the tournament: a clash between two champions, a rematch shaped by their earlier result and a contest with a place in the CAF Women’s Champions League awaiting the winner.
