Lamine Yamal misses Barcelona’s final training session before Valencia visit

Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal was absent from the club’s final full-team training session before Sunday’s La Liga meeting with Valencia at Mestalla.

The Spain international did not take part in the collective workout ahead of the fourth round of the Spanish league season. Instead, Yamal was seen exercising in the gym as Barcelona completed their preparations for the trip to Valencia.

Barcelona have not yet explained why the 18-year-old missed the session, nor have they confirmed whether he will be fit to play at Mestalla. His absence could be linked to a minor injury or fatigue, although the club has not provided any official assessment of his condition.

Yamal has made a significant contribution to Barcelona’s perfect start to the league campaign. The club have won each of their opening three matches, against Rayo Vallecano, Elche and Athletic Club.

In Barcelona’s previous match against Rayo Vallecano, Yamal scored twice to open his account for the current season. Those goals underlined his importance to the side as they look to continue their unbeaten start against Valencia.

The timing of his absence leaves his availability for Sunday’s fixture uncertain. Barcelona’s final team training session was the last opportunity for the squad to prepare collectively before facing Valencia, but there was no announcement from the club clarifying whether Yamal’s gym work formed part of a planned individual programme or was related to a physical issue.

Barcelona travel to Mestalla looking to maintain their winning record after collecting three victories from their first three league games. Their opponents will provide the next test in a match that could determine whether Yamal is able to continue his involvement at the beginning of the season.

For now, the club have only confirmed that the forward was not involved in the final group session. His condition and possible participation against Valencia will remain unclear until Barcelona issue further information or announce their matchday plans.

Yamal’s two goals against Rayo Vallecano were his first of the season, and his potential absence would remove one of Barcelona’s most productive attacking players from consideration for the fixture. However, no definitive decision on his involvement has been reported, and the reason for his missed training remains undisclosed.
