Wolves linked with unattached Burkina Faso winger Bertrand Traore

Burkina Faso winger Bertrand Traore, currently without a club, has been linked with a move to Wolves in the Championship.

Traore became unattached after leaving Sunderland on 1 July, less than a year after joining the club from Ajax. He moved to Sunderland on 1 September 2025 in a deal worth €2.9m, but his time at the club has ended without a continued contract being recorded.

The 30-year-old primarily plays on the right wing and is left-footed. He has previously played in the Premier League for Aston Villa and has made 77 appearances in the competition, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists.

Traore also has experience in European competition, including 32 Europa League appearances in which he scored 11 goals and supplied seven assists. He was part of the Ajax side that finished as Europa League runners-up in the 2016-17 season.

His career has also included spells with Chelsea, Lyon, Villarreal and Istanbul Basaksehir, while he spent time on loan at Ajax and Vitesse earlier in his career.

Wolves are the club currently linked with Traore, although there is no indication that a deal has been agreed. The player remains without a club as the rumour stands.
