Feyenoord weigh fresh Saudi approach for Algeria winger Hadj Moussa

Al-Ittihad have made a formal €30m proposal for Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa, adding to the growing Saudi Arabian interest in the Algeria international.

The offer comes as Feyenoord Rotterdam look to strengthen their finances after recently acquiring ownership of their own stadium. The Dutch club have now received what is described as a particularly attractive financial package from the Saudi Pro League.

According to Foot Mercato, Al-Ittihad have submitted the bid for Hadj Moussa, who is 24. It is not the first attempt by a Saudi Arabian club to sign the player this summer. Africafoot previously reported exclusively that Al-Ahli had also tried to recruit the winger.

The interest follows an impressive campaign for Hadj Moussa, who established himself as an important member of Feyenoord’s side. He scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 40 appearances in all competitions last season.

His form also attracted attention from clubs in Europe during the summer transfer window. Lille, commonly known as LOSC, Olympique de Marseille and Sporting Portugal all showed interest in signing him, although their approaches varied in nature and progress.

Hadj Moussa remains under contract with the Dutch club until 2030. The Paris-born winger is valued at €23m by Transfermarkt, meaning Al-Ittihad’s reported offer would exceed that assessment by €7m.

His annual salary is reported to be €490,000, equivalent to 318.5m CFA francs. The potential transfer would therefore represent a significant financial opportunity for Feyenoord, particularly as the club seeks to balance its accounts following the stadium acquisition.

Hadj Moussa’s future has also been the subject of wider discussion, including analysis from Mohamed Ben Chabir Lamine about the player’s next move and a possible option involving Chelsea.

For now, the Algeria international remains part of Feyenoord’s plans. The club are due to play NEC Nijmegen in their fifth match of the Dutch league season, with the fixture approaching.

Betting company 1xBet lists Feyenoord as the slight favourites for that match, offering odds of 2.20 for a home win. A draw is priced at 3.90, while NEC Nijmegen are listed at 2.90 to claim victory.

The immediate focus will be on the league fixture, but the reported approach from Al-Ittihad leaves Feyenoord facing an important decision over one of their most productive attacking players. With Hadj Moussa tied to the club for another four years and interest coming from both Saudi Arabia and Europe, his future is expected to remain a prominent issue during the transfer market.
