Arsenal plan January move for Bournemouth star Eli Junior Kroupi

Arsenal are expected to revive their interest in Bournemouth forward Eli Junior Kroupi when the January transfer window opens, as Mikel Arteta assesses ways to reinforce his attacking options.

The 20-year-old forward impressed in the Premier League last season, scoring 13 goals in 33 appearances for the Cherries.

Kroupi was unavailable for a summer transfer after undergoing surgery on a fractured metatarsal. Arsenal will monitor his recovery and form before deciding whether to make a formal approach midway through the campaign. His ability to play through the centre or from wide positions makes him an attractive option for the Gunners.

Arsenal’s interest comes after a significant reshaping of their forward line. Gabriel Martinelli, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Jesus departed during the summer, while Christos Tzolis was the only notable attacking arrival. The changes have left Arteta with less depth in the final third and may prompt the club to seek another versatile forward.

Bournemouth are not expected to sell Kroupi cheaply, particularly if he returns strongly from injury. However, his age, Premier League experience and proven end product ensure he will remain a player of interest to Arsenal as they prepare for a potentially busy January window.
