Raja Casablanca supporters demand answers over club finances

Raja Club Athletic is facing fresh internal pressure after a group of members called for a comprehensive audit of the Moroccan club’s finances.

According to reports in the Moroccan daily Al-Sabah on Wednesday, 2 September 2026, the members want the club’s financial records examined following the activation of its sports company.

The proposed audit is intended to establish how expenses and revenues were managed during the relevant period.

The members plan to formally raise the matter at the association’s next general assembly and ask the executive office to initiate the audit.

Members seek meeting with Raja president

Those pushing for the financial review are also expected to contact the management office of the sports company to formally notify it of their request.

The same group had previously asked to meet Raja president Idriss Akoujim, although a date for that meeting has yet to be confirmed.

A financial audit is among the issues they want to discuss with the club’s leadership.

The members are also seeking clarification on several developments at Raja following a meeting involving Jawad Al-Zayyat, the club’s director and supporters and fan groups at the end of last week.

Club officials also met members of the media on Tuesday as questions surrounding the club continue to grow.

Changes fuel uncertainty at Moroccan giants

The calls for an audit come at a time of considerable change at Raja.

The Casablanca club have undergone adjustments to their sporting administration and technical staff, while also bringing in several new players and allowing others to leave.

Some of those decisions have reportedly failed to convince sections of the club’s membership and fan base.

The financial questions have therefore added another layer of uncertainty as Raja attempt to establish greater stability at the beginning of the new season.

Raja preparing for return to African competition

Raja will return to the CAF Confederation Cup next season after finishing third in the Moroccan championship last term.

That result was viewed as disappointing by many Raja supporters, who had expected the club to challenge for the league title and secure a return to the CAF Champions League.

The club’s immediate challenge is therefore to restore confidence both on and off the pitch as it prepares for another campaign in African competition.

For the members calling for the audit, greater financial transparency is now central to that process.
